Reinhardt GmbH wishes a Merry Christmas and a successful year 2018

What a year!! 2017 has been a succesful year for Reinhardt GmbH. We entered the European market with new brands, strengthened our own brands and attracted great media attention through technical innovations.

rECOtimber – build modern guitars with thermo wood

Already in April we aroused great media attention at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt with our research project rECOtimber®. For two years, together with the Eberswalde School of Sustainable Development, we have been researching ways to thermally modify native woods so that they can be used on all the components of a guitar. Especially in the context of CITES, we had obviously stung this issue with an open wound, because the topic had aroused great interest in the trade press. For example, print publications such as the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the TAZ or, more recently, the National Geographic have written about it, and broadcasters such as the Bayerischer Rundfunk, the RBB and the MDR have both published radio and television reports. The question remains, when will the first instruments come on the market. Well, that can not be said exactly at the present, because we keep making adjustments again and again to further perfect the method. But 2018 will certainly be important for a successful market entry.

Shadow Guitars and Randon Guitars Successfully started

Likewise at the Musikmesse 2017, the first models of our new sales brands Shadow Guitars and Randon Guitars were presented. In the summer we could celebrate the successful market entry in Europe and already sell large quantities of the instruments. In 2018, we will expand the distribution network for these brands and work towards the long-term establishment of instruments in the guitar market.

Baton Rouge and La Mancha in new markets

The last thing to do is to look at the own brands. Here, 2017 has brought major changes, especially in product management. With the end of 2016 overshadowed by CITES in particular, we spent much of 2017 finding viable alternatives for Rosewood. And for the most part, we have succeeded. At La Mancha and Baton Rouge we will in future mainly rely on Ovangkol as a fretboard substitute. At Baton Rouge we have had ukuleles with walnut fretboards since autumn. Since November 2017, both brands have been on the market in Australia and New Zealand, and at the end of January 2018, the first instruments will hit the US market. In any case, 2018 will certainly be exciting. Because of this fact, we will also be represented at the NAMM show in Anaheim this year.

So it remains exciting and last but only thanks to all who accompany us on this path. To our customers, musicians, journalists, colleagues, family, everyone who helped us move from one successful year to the next. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
